Death at a boot camp

I think excessive force was used in this particular case, but I don't believe that boot camps should be shut down. Some kids only respond to order, and what better way to incorporate order than to use military techniques. Usually if a juvenile does not respond to boot camp, he or she is sent back to jail. Although this was an unfortunate incident, if the guards felt that this type of force was necessary, the boy should have been sent back to jail.

  • I don't get it. I wasn't there, but surely there was a reason why there were so many people around this young man. His first day there? If he totally refuses to comply, send his but to jail. But beat him? (if that is what actually happened.)

Don't know, but I don't like kids dying; good or bad kids.

  • Certainly a horrible outcome... but there's always more to the story than what we see on the news.
