Local Elections in New Orleans
They are local, all right. There is a protest scheduled this weekend according to the Tom joyner Morning Show in New Orleans regarding the upcoming elections, most notably is the mayoral. The issue surrounding these elections is that there are no satellite polling places being set up for the evacuees. IOW, you need to be in New Orleans in order to vote in this election. Now will someone please tell me why there are no satellite polling places being set up? According to radio reports, a judge ruled that the satellite polling places aren't necessary. Interesting development, eh?

You have got ot be frigging kidding me. How can they NOT be neccessary? I smell political shenanigans. Are they majority of those NOT able to vote likely to vote for someone that power-brokers don't want in? Is that what's behind this?

That would be my guess, and that is the argument being made by many politicians and figures who are opposing this. Only in America
