Website of the moment

Its Christmas time again, as if you didn't already know that. You knew it was Christmas time in September! Didn't they start decorating around that time? At any rate, I found this website and it has made my list. Not only do they provide state of the art equipment, they also give examples for installation! So instead of paying for installation or giving that guy around the corner a 24 pack of Bud to install your equipment incorrectly, learn how to do it yourself. What's really cool is the marine equipment, but don't expect to catch any fish with a booming system on the water.

Mischievousness

My two year old son recently locked my wife out of the house, and she did not find this situation to be hilarious. He locked her out of the house, then went to the window to look outside and smirk(not smile, but smirk). He then ran around in the house and came back to the door. While my wife was knocking and screaming, he began to repeat the knocking on the door. All this time, he refused to open the door. My wife was forced to call the fire dept., and they opened a window, and the rest is easy to figure out. I'm sorry, but I found this to be completely and utterly amusing. For those who don't know my two year old, he is quite the busy body. He gets into everything and does everything that you tell him not to. But he is so cute! He has that ladykiller look already which hopefully he won't be one to manipulate when he gets older. We'll raise him the best way we know how although some things are just natural. :P I'm still laughing!!!

Insensitivity in America

I just received an email with this picture in it. I must admit that when I first saw it, I laughed. But as I stared at the picture, I realized how sad this society has become. We poke fun at so many things without realizing whom we are hurting. This picture could be very offensive to anyone of middle eastern descent. Propaganda is always around during times of war, and this picture is a part of that propaganda. Have we become so consumed with ideals that we have forgotten about people? I choose to no longer find this picture funny. Its a sad depiction of what our society has become.

IPods and Alcohol?

The latest craze that is rising around the country and the world is the death of the traditional jukebox in exchange for personal IPods. Different bars are allowing patrons to upload their favorite songs for everyone in the bar to hear. I think that it is a cool idea although I may be a part of the 1% population who does not own an IPod. Most jukeboxes tend to be lame anyway. It would be cool to walk into a bar without a dj and hear some of the same tunes that you are listening to at home. When I get my IPod, I will play Stevie Wonder everywhere I go!!!

Thanksgiving Week

I know that its obvious I have been gone for over a week. Well, I took my Thanksgiving week off from doing anything constructive. I needed a break! With kids, there is hardly such a thing as a break, but I am back, and hopefully will return to form, or even reach new heights.

Before getting married . . .

In Christianity, we believe that marriage is an institution that has been ordained by God. There is a covenant made between two parties in His presence that is essential to making the marriage last. Many people have memorized the vows because they are pretty similar across races/nationalities/ethnicities et al lines. But there is little talk about preparing for marriage. This is probably due to the fact that nothing in life can prepare you for it. Oh, you may see your parents, or other relatives and figure that is how marriage is supposed to be, but you have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. Pre-marital counseling is a good place to start when you and your potential mate are considering a trip down the aisle. It can help you turn your fantasy into a reality. Marriage takes a lot of work, and that work does not always pay off immediately. Take some time to get to know yourself, resolve your issues, and be sure that the person you are marrying is the one for you. Should you have any doubts, explore them. Being positive and being in love will not carry a marriage. What carries a marriage is the cooperation between the two individuals to treat each other as God has commanded and asked. Anything less would be uncivilized.

So what's the point?

Oh my God! Can Dick Cheney, and all of the Chubby Checker fanatics in the Bush administration stay focused on what the critics have been saying? So what the Dems and some Repubs who initially supported the war are now the main ones criticizing the Iraqi war! They voted under false pretenses, and are doing the responsible action by questioning the information that was originally given to them. Mr. Cheney, you're not going to go broke behind this war, but some kids here in America will never see their fathers again because of your "intelligence". This is really getting to the point of being beyond sickening. You're saying the critics are lying, but won't say what they are lying about. Sheesh! Get a freaking life!!!

Forgiven, but not forgotten

Calvin "Snoop Dogg" Broadus is attending a vigil hoping that someway, somehow, Stanley "Tookie" Williams will not be executed for murdering four people. This story intrigued me because Snoop is a former gang banger turned rapper who has publicly decried gang life. He even denounced marijuana. Can he still be a positive role model? For some, he is a role model because he "keeps it real". I applaud his efforts, and hopes that he does have a positive influence in some person's life. As far as Tookie is concerned, I think he has redeemed himself, but he still needs to get the needle. Peace.

Uncool is really uncool

Remember Revenge of the Nerds? They were real dorks who actually turned out to be sort of cool because they respected themselves, er, they beat the crap out of the Alpha Betas. Okay, that is the real reason why they were cool. But some kids never learn to be cool, and crave that title for the duration of their lives. Hey, if you're dorky, embrace your dorkiness. If you're a nerd, love your nerdiness. If you're cool, high school is over, so get a job! What the lady did in this article was beyond crazy. Learn to love yourself. Peace.

Eddie Guerrero

My six year old is a huge wrestling fan, and one of his favorite wrestlers is Eddie Guerrero. How do I tell him what happened to his favorite wrestler? He was talking this past Friday about how Eddie beat the previously unbeaten Mr. Kennedy. Looking at Eddie's profile, it seems to slightly resemble Rick James', in that he had a history of drug and alcohol abuse. Perhaps that is the angle that I can use. At any rate, may God bless his family.

Its gettin' hot in here!

Check out this website that I found. Its a site that teaches you different tricks to do with your lighter. I mean, who sits down and ponders these things. And after they are pondered, what dummy do they get to be the guinea pig? Well, all of those questions and more are answered on this freaky website. Don't worry, its safe for work!

Who ya gonna call?

Anybody remember this movie? I was listening to the radio yesterday and Tom Joyner played the title track from Ghostbusters 2 by Bobby Brown, and it made me want to see the movie again. What surprised me is that there is a huge following from the movie, and its been 20 years since the first one was released. Wow!

Eddie Murphy and Johnny Gill

Once again, I'm not trying to be a celeb blogger, but I received an email stating that these two were seen ominously departing a gay night club together.

LOS ANGELES -

The paparazzi busted comedian actor Eddie Murphy and his so
called live in boyfriend, singer Johnny Gill of the group "New
Edition"
leaving a posh gay night club in Los Angeles last night. When the
paparazzi asked Murphy if he was gay and why he was exiting a gay
night
spot, he threw his hand up in the air to shield himself from the
camera
and shouted out obscenities.

Unrest in France

Unemployment causes uproar in France. Shoot, unemployment should cause unrest in anyone's household! Now, I don't condone the outbreak of violence in France, but I understand their frustrations from a historical perspective in America. There have been a series of riots throughout American history, and whether they are justified is debatable to this day. Racial, cultural, and ethnic issues seem to be on the rise in the news lately. Is it a smokescreen to hide the financial philandering perpetrated by global corporations? Me thinks so.

Return of the Mack

Are Bobby and Whitney making a comeback? They are looking less crack-ish these days. BTW, don't worry, I'm not becoming a celeb blogger. That thought ran through my mind when I saw this pic. Peace.

Former FEMA Director Mike Brown is an azzhole!

I know, I know. I run this blog and can write in whatever language I choose, but since I rarely cuss in person, I wanted to keep it real. Once again, New Orleans is my hometown, and it may never be the same again. My mother went back to New Orleans a few weeks ago, and she talks about how depressing it is to look at the city. She says that there is so much more work to be done, and this guy was worried about his clothes from Nordstrom while he was supposed to be helping the entire gulf coast region? What a jerk! Please read that article, and also take a look at some of the emails that he sent. Outrageous!
